The RAA Gallery & Art Emporium is a nonprofit artist cooperative gallery located in Cravings in Sharon, Pa.. RAA also has the use of the common area in Cravings for RAA, FLOW, FLOP and Black Sheep Players meetings, pop-up art shows and more. There are sandwiches, snacks, coffee, beverages and absolutely delicious Penn State ice cream available there. We encourage everyone to stop in and patronize our friends at Cravings.
RAA is currently trying to build up our list of artists who would like to display at Cravings. As a displaying artist you will be participating as a member of our new co-op, the RAA Gallery and Art Emporium. For a fee of $20, you will hang in the common area of Cravings for 1 month. You will also be invited to display in the Art Emporium which is in the same building as Cravings. In the co-op space you will be able to display prints, greeting cards, etc. Sales at Cravings have been very good and we expect them to improve after the co-op opens on May 5. We currently need a featured artist for May. If interested, contact Rose Prample.
May 5 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At the first meeting of FLOP we will look at what a respected juror considers to be "good" photographs. So go to Photo 2018 at TAG on March 10 (opens at 7 p .m.). While you look at the show please note and maybe take photos (if allowed) of your favorite pieces. Also note the presentation of the pieces in the show. Sometimes the presentation makes a BIG difference in the impression a photo makes. After that about 8:30, we will meet a couple doors down from the gallery at the "Speakeasy" bar, by the Best Western Hotel and we will have our meeting there over drinks. So come there prepared to talk about what you have seen at the show.
Please join us for a Cleveland art and food adventure. We will depart from the Reyers parking lot at 8 a.m.. We can relax as a charter bus takes us to do some wonderful food shopping at the historic West Side Market (beautiful building for our architecture buffs), then we will visit the nearby Glass Bubble Project for a glass blowing demo. Lunch will be on your own in the Ohio City District nearby. There are many options to choose from. After lunch we will travel to the Cleveland Museum of Art. Admission to the museum is free, but you may choose to see one of their special exhibits for a fee. After the museum we will visit a place called Big Fun, then we will head home. We should arrive back to the Reyers parking lot by around 8 p.m.. Random Acts of Artists will provide morning coffee and pastries and a snack for the trip home. Alcohol is permitted on the bus, so, BYOB. This trip is being offered to all for $50. You will be put on the list of passengers after payment of $50 is received. Payment for the trip is due no later than March 14. There is only room for 29 passengers so it will be first come first serve. Don't miss this great adventure! Please make check out to RAA and mail to: 6846 Wood St., Brookfield OH 44403.

Stay tuned for the next RAA art installation, "Flower Gallery." It will be completed by August 31, 2017 by active RAA members. This gallery will be installed along Connelly Blvd. across from the Sharon City Building. It will consist of 40 paintings of flowers mounted on 20 steel posts.
The Random Interface project is nearly a reality! A series of portraits created by local artists will soon be hanging in the alleyway off E. State St. across from Vine Ave. in Sharon. Volunteers helped seal the portraits. The opening reception will be July 14.
Linda Brink and Terry Polonsky were honored to be the jurors for the annual "Hungry for the Arts" which benefits the Brookfield Backpack Charitable Fundraiser. It is a very worthy cause which helps to feed those less fortunate. At the same time, they are bringing awareness to the arts. The artworks that we judged were done by children in kindergarten through 12th grade. We saw some great pieces. Thank you to Tracy Plyler for the great work that you do.
